This SUV from South Korean carmaker ‘Hyundai’ will be launched in early 2014. The expected price tag will range from Rs. 17 lacs to Rs. 20 lacs. After Santa Fe this will be another SUV from Hyundai. The specifications and Features as boasted by the company are mentioned below.
Under the hood: The top model of the car will feature a Theta II 2.4 MPi engine which shall provide max 176 hp power. The mileage factor is still not known but it can be estimated to be near 10 kpl. The vehicle will have 6-speed automatic transmission and 5-speed manual transmission. The car has an electric 4-wheel drive mechanism which judges the road surface, wheel speed and acceleration and accordingly distributes the force on the front and rear wheels. As per the company’s claim, the car will have very low NVH level.
Exteriors: The SUV has a very elegant front with elongated headlamps and fog lamps. The bonnet has smooth curves at the ends which are a bit raised. There lies a small grill at the bottom of bonnet which also contains the brand logo proudly in it. Below that lies another trapezium shaped grill air intake, followed by the plate with Tucson written on it, followed by a sleek radiator grill. This vehicle too like all new cars from Hyundai is inspired from a Fluidic design philosophy. The top has roof railings and the sides have metallic ORVMs with LED turn indicators on them. The wheels are attractive with its alloy build and 10 star- shaped spokes on it and its unique ventilation mechanism prevents the brakes from overheating. The vehicle has a highly aero-dynamical structure with the necessary bends here and there. The rear is also handsome with its huge bumper, niche tail-lamps, spoiler and the sloping tail gate.
Interiors: The SUV is very intelligently done on the inside too. Let’s have a look. There’s a display screen which will guide through the ways via navigation system, it also features your music system and Bluetooth. The instrument cluster has romantic blue LED lights to never let you sleep while driving. There’s also a rear view camera for a safer and easier parking. The seating is super comfortable with flexible positioning and the heated seats feature. There’s also a sunroof to enjoy the warmth when you like. Hmm and for the cool buddies out there the dual fully automatic air conditioners is by their side. Automatic start/ stop only add to the technical advancement of the vehicle. The 2nd row seats are foldable to increase the boot space. The intelligent storage options exist at the right places, starting from the cup holders to sunglasses holders.
Safety: the car is stabilized by the Electronic stability control feature (ESC) useful when due to sudden braking or turning vehicle goes out of control. Airbags: front 2, side and curtain airbags provide all round protection to the commuters. The active Headrests protect from head and neck injuries. To move up a hill there’s a mechanism called Hill start assist and to descend a hill there’s a mechanism called the downhill brake control. The power windows also have sensors which automatically halt if it senses an obstacle such as a finger in between.
Market Expectations: After success of Santa Fe, Hyundai is pretty confident about Tucson winning the hearts of people and the sales chart too.
