The Hyundai Creta was launched earlier this week starting with the price tag of 9.44 lakh INR that went up till 15.03 lakh INR (all prices ex-showroom pan India). The new Hyundai vehicle this time gets cosmetic updates with revised pricing. But the Creta is different from the previous model. Let’s have a look at what the changes in the new Hyundai car comes with as compared to its 2015 version.
Exterior
There are some changes in designs that makes the car fresh in looks from its predecessor. The Facelift gets cascading grille instead of the chunky triple-chrome slats. It is wider and larger unlike separate units on the older version. For the front bumper, it gets a fresh look with a brushed silver skid plate while its fog lamp housing is now smaller with LED DRLs. Overall the revised version is more appealing the older one. The car also has a 17-inch machine cut alloy wheels that are restricted to the top variants. Apart from all, Hyundai offers the car in two new colors that are Marina Blue and Passion Orange while Hyundai India also offers a dual-tone paint option with black roof.
Interior
There are no massive changes in interiors. Only the range-topping SX+ trims gets an all-black cabin. The lower trims now get height adjustable driver’s seat, sliding armrest, speed sending door locks, front seatbelts with pre-tensioners. The top features include electric sunroof, cruise control, six-way power adjustable driver’s seat, wireless phone charger and a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system etc.
Engine
There are no changes under the hood. The 1.6-litre petrol engine continues to produce 121 bhp and 151 Nm of peak torque. Its motor is still mated to a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. The 1.4-litre diesel is fuel efficient and produces 89 bhp and 220 Nm of peak torque, while paired with a 6-speed manual. Lastly there is a 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine that produces 126 bhp and peak torque of 260 Nm. It is mated to the same 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox.
Safety
Safety features like dual airbags, ABS and EBD remain standard across the range.
Price
The new vehicle is 15,000 INR more expensive than its predecessor for the base ‘E’ petrol variant, whereas the top-spec SX (O) petrol is 57,000 INR more. Prices for base Creta facelift diesel remains unchanged, but the top-spec SX (O) diesel variant will charge you 44,000 INR more
