Amid the expanding arena of high performance luxury cars, almost every big player of industry is keen to try its hand in India. The result being successive launches of premium luxury cars in the last couple of years from automobile giants. In this series, Mercedes has again amazed every motor fanatic with its newest E63 AMG, the moist upgraded version of Mercedes Benz E class. The car was launched in a grand pageantry at Buddha International Circuit, Noida. This is a sports car wrapped in a four gate luxury sedan with stupendous design aesthetics. It will be imported to India through CBU route and distributed by Mercedes Benz dealers.
Pricing:
It has been priced at whooping Rs. 1.29 crores (ex- showroom, Delhi). But going by its credentials, this price looks quite reasonable though.
Brand value:
Mercedes Benz launched first E- class in 1990s and there has been no looking back since then for this luxury carmaker from Germany. It has acquired great admiration from Indian masses with every new launch. With such impressive fleet, it has quite a reputation to surmise and uphold in the times to come as well.
Engine:
This sports car with luxury has been motorized with a 5461 cc 5.5 litre V8 twin turbo petrol engine which is mated to 7-speed automated clutch gear box. This high power mill emanates power of 557 BHP @ 5500 pm and a max torque of 720 Nm in range of 1750- 5250 rpm. It promises a fuel efficiency ranging 10 kmpl.
Space:
Mercedes Benz E63 AMG is very spacious car to accommodate 5 persons at a time. It has the dimensions of 4892x 1873x 1450 mm and a boot space of 540 litres. It gives ample leg room and head space to every passenger.
Interiors:
Like its predecessors, this car is also quite appealing and classy from inside. It includes AMG flat bottomed steering wheel with aluminium paddle shift and steering wheel mounted audio controls. This alcantara and leather steering is complemented by AMG instrumentation, AMG drive unit; AMG sports seats, remote central locking, parking sensors, and power windows. The dash board, gear lever, and door pads are made of fine carbon fiber to give a sporty look to it.
Exteriors:
The swish exteriors of this car are quite stunningly styled by designing team of Mercedes Benz. It is, in fact, a revised version of previous E class with all new front bumper and sporty twin blade radiator front grille, full LED headlights, sunroof, 10 spokes 18” alloy wheels, new side skirts, wind splitters, trunk spoiler, and Xenon headlamps. From the rear side as well, this car leaves a lasting impact with dual chrome exhaust pipes, rear spoiler, carbon fibre diffuser, fog lamps, V8 BITURBO lettering combined with AMG logo, AMG lettering on the boot, and a new diffuser.
Road handling:
With front ventilated and rear disc brakes, it offers nice road handling for an ultimate driving comfort and ground clearance is also quite up to the mark. Within 4.2 seconds, it can race to a top speed of 250 km/h.
Along with this smooth road handling, it also has 8 airbags, ABS with EBD, EPS, and good traction control to give safe and comfortable ride to the passengers in this high performance vehicle.
Verdict:
Facing tough competition from BMW M5 and Audi RS5, Mercedes Benz E63 AMG was launched with great anticipation into the Indian markets. With outstanding sporty looks and high end features, it is expected to play a dominant role in this segment of Indian car market. Though it is quite pricey yet with such amazing features, it offers a lot to the buyers.
