    Its Beat which is going to get facelift this year. like every other, Chevrolet brand is also continuously updating its cars to maintain the sale and position in market. This face-lifted version of Beat has been launched globally and now ready to hit the Indian market, its launch date is still unrevealed though but it is expecting to make its debut here by the 2014 or could be postponed till 2015.

    This renovation is mainly occurred in its exterior as well as interior to boost its glimpse and to make it more appealing than before, but its heart (engine) has remain untouched.

    Price:

    The price is expected to remain the same as its predecessor i.e. between 4-6 lakhs.

    Brand Value:

    Though it has been a long time since this brand is serving in India but still it is called an average brand, the main reason is its after sale services, where company fails to satisfied a car user. Still, it has also given many cars to its lovers which are successful in India today.

    Engine details:

    As reported till now, the updated version will continue to run the same engine options which include 1.0 L diesel and 1.2 L petrol/LPG with 5-speed manual gearbox. While its diesel version churns out the max power of 57.7bhp@ 4000rpm and peak torque of 150Nm@ 1750rpm, the petrol variant provides 79.4bhp@ 6200rpm & 108Nm@ 4400rpm of max power and torque respectively, also the LPG engine offers the healthy power of 79.3bhp@ 6400rpm and torque of 104Nm@ 4400rpm. This hatchback provides the minimum turning radius of 4.85m.

    Coming to mileage, it is a fuel efficient car which offers the ARAI certified mileage of 25.44 kmpl (diesel), 18.6 kmpl (petrol) and 13.3 kmpl (LPG).

    The on road mileage of this car is: diesel- 20/24 kmpl (city/highway); petrol- 14/16 kmpl (city/highway).

    Space:

    It has the overall dimension of 3640mm*1595mm*1520mm with the ground clearance of 175mm and wheel base of 2375mm.

    It is a hatchback with five seating capacity which offers the boot space of 170 liters.

    Interior & Exterior:

    As the main changes have occurred in its inside as well as outside, so it is expected to have a re-designed center console and modified trimuse of new plastic materialsoptional cruise control, the older mini USB port has replaced in the petrol version with full-size USB port, and also a modified TCDi badge is being fitted. The other features are remained same in this renovated version.

    Outside, the main changes involve modified grille at frontrefined front bumperschrome surrounded fog lampsnew tailgates and a stop light (high mounted) on the rear spoiler. In Europe, this new face-lifted Beat 2013 also designed with new 15-inch alloy wheels, its not sure if face-lifted Beat India would get the same or not. The Beat India currently has 14-inch alloy wheels.

    Road handling & Safety:

    In terms of safety features, its all variant is equipped with central lockingday/night rear view mirrordriver seat belt reminderhigh mount stop lamp, but the other safety devices like ABS system, dual airbags, front fog lamps etc are just offered in its LT (opt) variant.

    While its front wheels have disc braking system, the rear wheels have drum braking. It has low turbo-lag and provides easy, quick and comfortable drivability because of its excellent gearing system. It accelerates 0-100 km/h in 14.20 seconds (petrol) and 20.5 seconds (diesel) with the good top speed of 157.2 km/h in petrol while 148.5 km/h in diesel.

    Car Zoom’s take:

    It is a compact hatchback which provides nice features, low maintenance at affordable price. The handling and performance of this car is decent and it’s a good fuel efficient too. Wait for launch of its updated version; we might get many more new and exciting surprising packages along with this renovation.
