Maruti Suzuki WagonR Stingray hatchback car was launched in India on 19 august. It is a modified version of popular hatchback by Maruti –WagonR with a starting price of Rs. 4.18 lacs. Here are the specifications and features of the car:
Specifications: The dimensions of the car 3636mm x 1475 mm x 1670mm with wheelbase of 2400 mm. The Company claims the mileage factor of the car to be 20.51 kpl. The car is proud with its advanced k-Series engine. To be specific there is all aluminium light in weight K10B engine which displaces upto 998 cc. The max power and torque figures are 68Ps @ 6200 rpm and 90 Nm @ 3500 rpm respectively. The car has a 5-speed manual transmission.The minimum turning radius is 4.6 m and min ground clearance is 165 mm. They also promise smooth drives because of Frame-type front suspension and effortless gear shifting.
Exteriors: It is a car with a straight hatch, side profile and bonnet without much curves or bends. Just below the bonnet is the chrome bar holding the brand logo with big headlamps on either side. Below there is a trapezium-shaped air intake grill with a plate where car no. is to be written. The grill is surrounded by fog lamps which safely reside inside the cubicles formed on the car. The electrically adjustable ORVMs and door handles are body coloured, but the turn indicators are present on ORVMs in the higher variant only and in others they are present below it in the form of small lamps. The side profile too has been carved with simplicity without much aerodynamic curves on it. The rear glass has a rain wiperand just above the bumper you can see a huge ‘Stingray’ word written on it in grey. The rear lamps are big in height but low in length. There are gunmetal grey coloured alloy wheels with 8 spokes ornamenting it.
Interiors: Jump inside and you will immediately notice black aura of the car with designed black upholstery and a black in everything-else. The car has some pockets here and there to accommodate your articles, one like on the doors at both front and rear. The front console has a groovy audio system with back lit lights. There are 2 A/c vents around this system and 2 at the corners. And there is also a glove box to keep your things cool!! Cool! The power Steering is tilt adjustable giving you optimum comfort while driving. The instrument panel has a blue theme with Multi-Information display to avoid any dull moment while driving. The rear seat is foldable with 60:40 ratio thus increasing the boot space when required.
Safety: StingRay is packed with many safety features like the driver side airbag, rear wiper, defogger and washer. The car is also equipped with Anti-Braking- System to gain control especially on slippery roads. The structure of the car is made in such a way that it absorbs energy during collisions and thus offering safety to passengers.
