The British car manufacturer Jaguar is in the process to make a SUV named as C-X17 based on the platform of its another model XE-sedan. This new SUV is expected to be completely prepared in next two years and hence company will launch it in international markets by 2016. After few months of its international launch, we expect company to launch it in India too.
As per the reports, company’s strategy behind the new launches including this trendy SUV is to reach above the 200,000 units annually on the grounds of sale terms. The new Jaguar C-X17 will directly compete with another top-end luxury model Porsche Macan.
The sports crossover C-X17 is expected to come with both diesel as well as petrol units. It might power by Jaguar’s all-new family engine, the Ingenium, with four-cylinders. Though, engine’s size, output etc are still behind the curtain and will be revealed by the launch probably.
Expectedly, the Jaguar’s this SUV will be longer than its main rival Porsche Macan and probably spacious too. And by considering the fact that it is going to be made with aluminum which will give it a lighter architecture, it can be predicted that it will help the sporty SUV to run faster than other same segment rivals.
Jaguar chief designer Ian Callum mentioned the C-X17 in summarized way with the single phrase – “an innovative sports crossover, means a model which uniquely combines our exciting sports car heritage with flexibility, usability and space”
The new C-X17 SUV might come with four-wheel drive system (4WD) in its top end variants, it’s just the rumor yet, though. The rest of the Jaguar C-X17’s driveline seems similar to what you’d expect: four-wheel drive with impressive torque, almost assuredly offered only with Jaguar’s 8-speed automatic transmission. The sports crossover model is going to carry the overall length of around 4.7m.
The outside profile of Jaguar C-X17 is looking like a mini SUV with cute but massive sporty glimpse designed with firmly and finely texture. By looking it’s amazing performance as claimed by company, sleek body with catchy touch, it can be said that it could be a huge hit for Jaguar in Indian car market but still anything will be so soon to say, let’s wait for this amazing high profile launch first.
