After writing the success stories with Baleno hatchback and Brezza SUV, Maruti Suzuki is now concentrating to put some life to the slow selling S-cross. Struggling to deliver expected sales numbers, the premium crossover will soon get a petrol mill to up the competitive quotient. Launched in August 2015, the S-cross not able to attract the customers as it is clearly overpriced.

In order to up the sales, Maruti slashed the prices of Crossover by up to Rs. 2.05 lakhs but still it did not garner the market share. Now in a kindness gesture, the carmaker is compensating the early bird customers with cheques, maintenance packages and even extended warranties. Some owners have received a refund of Rs. 70,000-90,000 along with maintenance cost protect.

Now, MSIL is likely to introduce a petrol engine it could be either cost effective 1.4l engine (91PS) that do duty on Ertiga or Ciaz or it might be performance oriented 1.0l booster jet engine (111PS) which will be seen on upcoming Baleno RS.

Though engine is not the elementary problem for S-Cross but price and design is though the introduction of Petrol mill would try to make up for it. In addition, the diesel mill might receive SHVS system which will not only make it more fuel efficient but also justifies the price tag as well.

Currently the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is priced between Rs. 8.03-12.03 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) after the recent price slash. It will be interesting to see the price range of S-Cross petrol.
