Have you guys listened the rumor about Toyota to showcase around 17 models in upcoming Auto Expo 2014….cool n huge planning..No??? Well, among these seventeen, there are two main models of this solid brand for Indian customers which are Corolla 2014 and Etios Cross. Today we are going to flash the lights on the facelift sedan Corolla 2014. Let’s see what new Toyota’s sedan is bringing with this updated model.
If reports are to be believed, company has geared up its price too with this updated model. While the ongoing Corolla Altis has the price tag between 11.4-15.8 lakhs, this facelift Corolla 2014 is said to be priced around 19-20 lakhs.
If there is a name Toyota, there must be presence of faith and strength. Toyota’s models are known to be one of the most powerful models in terms of its quality material, performance etc. It is one of the oldest brands of India which has made its unique place in India with its reliability, trustworthiness and excellent after-sale services.
No mechanical changes have been reported in this new corolla 2014. It will continue with the same 1.8 liter dual VVTi petrol and 1.4 D-4D diesel engines good for churning out the max output of 138bhp, 173Nm and 87.2bhp, 205Nm respectively.
Though it was expected from company to increase these powers in facelift sedan model as per car’s larger size but reportedly it is not going to happen at least this time. The available engines are mated with same 6-speed manual while the automatic transmission will mark its presence there as an option too.
Space & Dimension:
While the dimension is same like the predecessor, the wheelbase gets a hike of 100mm in this facelift model. It is 4540mm in length, 1760mm in width and 1480mm in height. While the increased wheelbase is of now 2700mm, the boot space and ground clearance are expectedly same like the ongoing Corolla Altis which are 475 liters and 175mm respectively.
Interior & Exterior:
Its outside glimpse has been modified which makes this sedan more refreshing and young than before. Also, inside cabin of this facelift sedan gets many new equipments of standard quality to increase its luxury feel. Though, the exact detail of these renovations and newly added features could only be revealed after the launch.
Car Zoom’s take:
Corolla Altis is a well known name and probably it is a bestselling car of Toyota in worldwide but somehow it lacks to attract that much people in India. This classy sedan disappoints the company in terms of its sales and probably this is the reason company is bringing it with a new face and form. The 2014 Corolla seems very much different from the ongoing one and also looking more fresh and cool. However, the only drawback is its engine availability which is going to be the same and could be improved a bit. Still, as it’s Toyota, we can surely expect something good and satisfied. In India, it would compete with Hyundai Elantra and Chevrolet Cruze etc.
