Check and change the oil
It has been advised by many experts that changing your car’s oil every 3000 miles of your travel is essential. But you can change it maximum by 5000 miles. Do remember that you should never change the oil when your engine is hot. You should also know how to use the jack before you start changing the oil or you can hire a mechanic to do it for you.
Maintaining fluid levels
Oil is not only the thing which your vehicle requires. With the engine oil, you also need to keep a check on brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid etc. for the easy working of the car. It helps the car work swiftly without hassle. Make sure to check it on a regular basis.
Antifreeze/coolant
Always use the right coolant for your engine and it should not be of bad quality because that leads to further pains. If you do not use the correct coolant it may damage your engine so use a branded one.
Checking the tyre condition
Tyres play an important role in keeping you and your car safe. You need to check for any leakage, and you can also rotate them as it increases its life. You should also change your tyre if it has been used for long and looks threadbare.
No rash driving
Rash driving is always injurious. It can hurt you and also your car’s engine works harder and it reduces the life of your vehicle. Saying no to rash driving is always a better choice as the more you rash drive; the more your car demands repairs.
Battery maintenance
This is the key to keep your car running safely and smoothly. There is no hard work in checking the battery the basic test is to keep a look over your battery and the way your car is working. Like if you are having problems in starting or it gives jerks, it’s the sign saying you need to contact the mechanic.
Replace Spark Plugs
Ideally one should change the spark plugs after every 48,000 km. Spark Plug needs to be changed because it passes electric current from the ignition system to the combustion chamber and gets blackened over time. Thus it needs to be cleaned from time to time.
