7 Upcoming SUVs in 2021

2020 was an unforgettable year for the world to live and survive in normalized ways. The pandemic affected all the business verticals and the automobile industry was also reeled by an outbreak of COVID-19 because of which the launch and production of new automobiles were postponed to the year 2021 in India.

The industry decided to launch some of the SUVs this year in June but, the unprecedented second wave of the pandemic has again provoked everyone to be homebound and the lockdown has shut many verticals for some time impacting the automobile industry too. Now let’s see when would the below list of cars that were expected to launch in 2020 will hit the market.

Tata HBX – Micro-SUV
  1. VW Taigun/Skoda Kushaq – Mis Size SUV: The launch of VW Taigun has already been unveiled earlier giving a tough competition to Creta. With two turbo petrol engine options of 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre making 115 hp and 150 hp are expected to come at a budget range between ₹ 10 lakhs – ₹17 lakhs.

 

2. Tata HBX – Micro-SUV: This car was first showcased in the Auto Expo 2020 and will be a micro-SUV from Tata Motors. The car is a rival of Ignis, Renault Kwid and Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, the HBX is expected to be the heart of SUVs verticals. With a 1.2-litre petrol engine making 86 hp, the AMT gearbox is expected to range between a budget of ₹ 4 lakhs to ₹ 8 lakhs.

 

  1. Hyundai AX – Micro-SUV: AX Hyundai is similar to HBX and is expected to give tough competition to HBX. AX will be having a petrol engine of 1.1-litre from Santro and 1.2-litre from Grand i10 making 67hp and 82hp. With a tough competitive value, the car is expected between a budget range of ₹ 4 lakhs to ₹ 8 lakhs.

 

  1. Citroen CC21 – Compact SUV: Citroen is going to enter the Indian market with SUVs wherein, the upcoming one is Citroen CC21. With a turbo engine or 1.2-litre petrol, the car is expected to range between a budget of ₹ 8 lakhs to ₹ 13 lakhs.

7     Seaters: 

  1. Mahindra XUV700 – 7-Seater SUV: The upcoming SUV has generated a lot of curiosity amongst the buyers majorly because this new XUV700 will be having different changes in its ADAS features and changes from inside as well. With the powerful turbo petrol of 2.0-litre from mSTallion, it will be having manual and automatic transmission along with an AWD system. This 7-seater car is expected to be launched between the budget of ₹ 14 lakhs to ₹ 21 lakhs.
  2. Mahindra Scorpio – 7 – Seater SUV: This Scorpio was expected to launch earlier but because of the semiconductor’s shortage, its launch has been pushed back and is expected to be launched, this year. Featuring the 2.2-litre diesel unit or 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, its expected price might range between a budget of ₹ 11 lakhs to ₹ 15 lakhs.
  3. Hyundai Alcazar – 7- Seater SUV: Revealed by Hyundai, Alcazar is Creta’s long and advanced version. It was supposed to be launched earlier but due to a pandemic, its launch got delayed. With 2 engine options of 1.5-litre diesel making 115hp and 2.0-litre petrol making 150hp is expected to be launched at a budget range between ₹ 15 lakhs to ₹ 21 lakhs.

As of now, the expected month for the launch of these cars is June 2021 but, considering the current situations, there might be delays or some changes in the launch.
