The Japanese car maker Toyota has always been one of the most innovative car makers. Toyota Etios is one of the best entry level Sedan in the market and has been in the market for quite a while. The response from the user community towards the car has been impressive; the car may not be the hottest of the sedans but has got the good looks. The first thing which the Toyota Etios flaunts is its design. The car has an amazing design and a sturdy make.
USER’S REVIEW
We managed to meet few car buyers who test drove the top end VX variant of the car. They already owns a 2011 Etios and has been a loyal Toyota User. The first thing one of them had to say about the car was its performance. The Etios packs in one of the best Sedan engines for an entry level car. The car has got more than average engine pickup and at the 3rd Gear it roars like a rock star. The car he uses gives him a decent mileage of 16kmpl.
INTERIORS
In terms of Interiors many were disappointed by the 2013 Etios. The door material was not sturdy and made noises while closing it. The car has a reduced overall weight which would help it to deliver a better mileage. But in doing so the car maker has compromised on the quality of the materials used in the car. Even the music system was found less impressive with most of the speakers placed in the front. The A.C system was good and the leg space impressive. The car has got one of the best boot spaces of about 595 litres which is great.
RIDE QUALITY
The ride in the handling department impressed the users and the Steering was found very responsive and light. The Road visibility has been handled carefully and is found to be one of the best in this segment. The car has an impressive turning radius and overall manages to keep up with the Brand name.
PRICE
The car’s priced around 8.15-9L* making it affordable and easy on pocket for the middle class buyers aspiring to own a powerful Sedan. Toyota has got the pricing right, but has compromised on few aspects which we would have loved to see in the car.
CAR ZOOM’S TAKE
The car isn’t bad but we feel the car’s overall specs are obsolete. Other car makers have gone way forward towards making premium cars at affordable price. Toyota seems to be stuck in time and its time that it realize and focuses on bringing cars with premium feel and superior build. If performance is all that matters for you, then the car packs in some real engine power. If you’re ready to shed a lakh or more, you can look towards more premium cars like the VW Vento.
