Following the footsteps of other car makers Renault India announces price hike of all its vehicles in India by 2.5% from 1st January 2015 due to mounting input costs. In recent times we have seen many car manufactures including Maruti, Hyundai, Nissan, BMW and Datsun etc have announced the rise in price from January.

After the price rise Pulse will be up by Rs. 11,153, Scala by Rs. 18,113 and Fluence by Rs. 34,975. The Koleos and Duster will get price hike of 55,000 and 19,650 respectively.
Commenting on the price increase announcement, Rafael Treguer, vice president, sales and marketing, Renault India said, “So far we have absorbed the rising input costs, but a sustained challenging market environment has compelled us to increase our prices. The industry is eagerly looking forward to pro-business policies to reignite the automobile industry in India.”
Earlier Renault has announced that Renault India will launch two new products in 2015, first will be a seven seater Renault Lodgy MPV which is all set to be launched on 15th January 2015 and it will take on Maruti Ertiga, Honda Mobilio etc, while the second one will be a entry level hatchback codenamed XBA expected to be priced between 3-4 lakhs and will lock its horns with Maruti Alto and Hyundai EON.
Renault India is not lone car maker to increase the price of its entire line up, Earlier the Japanese car maker Nissan had declared price rise of by up to Rs. 18,000. Earlier this month Maruti Suzuki had announced the price rise of 2-4 percent from January, Hyundai also announced a price hike of Rs. 25,000. Other car makers like BMW, Tata motors, Nissan, Datsun, M&M and General Motors’ who have already declared price hike from January 2015 due to high input costs.
