The dimension of this MPV is 4400mm*1700mm*1860mm along with the wonderful ground clearance of 180mm which can easily secure the vehicle from speed breakers on bad roads. 165/80 tyres on 15 inches alloy wheels is little bit surprising for this large size of vehicle and it could be better.
It is a family based vehicle where seven adults can sit easily; two at front, three in middle and two at rear and also it has the boot space of 500 liters which could be large as compared to the others in same segment. Though it has option to fold the seats of last row, and after that, we can get a huge space of 2100 liters for storage. Also its middle row can be flipped ahead and gives a compartment type space. It has the fuel tank capacity of 45 liters and total weight of this MPV (kerb weight) is 1446kg which makes it lighter than the other seven seating vehicles like Innova, Xylo etc. The minimum turning radius of it is 5.2 m which is quite good according to its large size.
Interiors:
The MPV has all the essential features according to the requirements. It has a Multi-function display which gives info about cruising range, fuel efficiency, clock, indicator for gear shifting, odd-trip as well as fuel meter etc. Also this MPV is equipped with 12 volt power supply socket, double folding system in 2nd row (60:40), side folding system in 3rd row (50:50),audio 2-din AM/FM and CD/MP3 along with front and rear speakers as well as roof antenna.
When talking about comfort features, it has a long list here too. A manual AC with heater (obviously missing the automatic AC), rear air conditioner in 3rd row (only in three top most variants), a wide as well as tall electronically adjustable ORVM which works so well, keyless entry, power steering with tilt steering adjustment, seat back table, bottle holders and storage compartment in front doors, cup holders in sliding doors and third row, dead paddle for driver’s foot rest, height adjustable front seat belts are that features which make this car premium as well as trendy.
The additional luxury features which comes along with this are:
- rear wipers on 2nd row
- rear windows (2nd row)
- cushion pillow set
- seat belt pad
- steering wheel cover
Exteriors:
It doesn’t satisfy a buyer on looking from outside, its breadbox exterior and sliding rear doors make its look more like a commercial vehicle. But the generally required features are available in this MPV like body colored bumpers, body colored outer door mirror and door handles, silver radiator grille, green tinted glass, back door chrome finisher, full wheel cover, follow me home headlamps(which means we can leave the headlight switch on and it will automatically switch off after 30 seconds from exiting the vehicle). It has dual reversing lights as well as front fog lamps but rear fog lamps are missing. It comes in six different colors including the attractive Aqua Green and Brick Red.
Road handling & Safety:
Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD system, immobilizer, central locking (only in three top most variants), door ajar warning are those most important safety features which a buyer wants, and these all are well embellished in this MPV.
It has good engine drivability. On the city roads, the engine seems flexible and has regulated turbo lag which is said to be one of the plus point of this K9K diesel engine. Evalia’s riding and handling quality is admirable with its light steering and perfect gear ratios. This MPV can achieve the top speed of 170kmph and can 0-100km in 17-18 seconds. It has disc brakes at front while drums at rear which definitely supports in proper road handling.
Verdict:
MPV is generally known for its capability to carry heavy loads and in this aspect; Evalia completely justifies this MPV tag with its tons of luggage holding capacity. It deserves to be a strong competitor in its segment. Its superb road handling and drivability, availability of large space, fuel efficiency are that terms which makes it a well demanded car in its segment.
And after this launch in the festive season with affordable price and luxury features, we can expect better sales of this Nissan’s four-wheeler than the other cars in its segment.
