Maserati has launched the 2018 Gran Turismo in India, the car is the latest Maserati which has been designed by the iconic design house- Pininfarina. The car was globally unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of speed last year. Check out the features of the car below:
One of the important changes made in Gran Turismo is the new shark nose hexagonal grille inspired by Maserati’s Alfieri Concept. The grille looks good and is functional as well. At the bottom, there are new lower air ducts that help in reducing the coefficient of aerodynamic drag from 0.33 to 0.32. While there hasn’t been made any substantial changes to the side of the car, the rear bumper has also been tweaked and looks fresh.
Interior:
On the interior, the 2018 model gets an 8.4” capacitive touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and mirror link and is fixed with a Harmon Kardon sound system. The seats of the car are wrapped in Poltrona Frau and Alcantara leather and are finished with carbon fiber at the back. The central console also gets carbon fiber detailing and has been redesigned to house the double rotary dials that are finished in forged aluminum.
The new Maserati Gran Turismo comes in two variants- Sport and the MC. Both are powered by a Ferrari sourced 4.7-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine that that is handcrafted by Ferrari engineers at Maranello. The engine develops 460 bhp at 7000 rpm and 520 Nm of peak torque at 4750 rpm and is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
The car will compete with Porsche 911 Turbo, Audi R8 V10 Plus, Nissan GT-R and Aston Martin Vantage V8 in the Indian market. It is priced at INR 2.25 Crore (ex-showroom, India)
