Porsche has launched its third generation Cayenne in India. The bookings for the car have started however, the bookings for the Turbo variant started in September 2018. The first batch of the cars has already been sold and this shows how popular the SUV is in the country. Before Macan, it was Cayenne that was the highest selling Porsche in India. Now the third generation of the car has been launched and here we bring other details about the car.

Exterior and Interior

The third generation Cayenne gets many updates than its predecessor. It receives chassis, and a separated link design for the front axle and a multi-link rear axle. Visually, it gets a sharper look and this improves the agility on the car. It has dynamic light system or LED Matrix Beam headlights, which also include PDLS. The SUV will be available in four modes that are Mud, Gravel, Sand, or Rock. The car can further also change the drive mode, chassis settings, and differential locks to adapt to the terrain. There will also be a new display with control concept that uses a 12.3-inch touch screen system shared with the Panamera. There is also a 7-inch full-HD display.

Safety

For safety the car has lane changing assist, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, park assist, adaptive cruise control etc.

Engine Details

Under the hood it is offered in V6 and V8 engine options. The V6 has a 3.0-litre engine that produces 335 bhp and 450 Nm of peak torque, while for the V8 there is a 542 bhp and 770 Nm of peak torque having 4.0-litre bi-turbo engine. The SUV is capable of taking up a highest speed of 286 kmph. There will also be an E-Hybrid variant on offer that uses the 3.0-litre V6 engine producing 462 bhp and 700 Nm peak torque. There is a eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission mated to the car.

Price

Prices for the Cayenne range start from 1.19 Crore INR. The E-Hybrid is priced at 1.58 crore INR and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo will be priced at 1.92 crore INR (ex-showroom India).
