Honda is finally here with its fifth generation CR-V for the Indian market. It is available only in the top-spec variants for both petrol and diesel engines. Exterior and Interior

The car gets a 7-seat configuration for the first time but that is only for the diesel engine. For the petrol variant it still continues to be a five-seater car. There is LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, LED DRLs, panoramic sunroof, push-button gear selector, electronically adjustable front seats, electronic parking brake, digital instrument cluster, lane watch assist,AC vents, reverse parking camera and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with apple car play, and android auto. There is also a 180 W sound system with the car.

Safety

The 2018 Honda CR-V has six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, brake assist, driver attention assist, stability assist and hill start assist.

Engine Details

Under the hood the car has a 2.0-litre 154PS/189Nm unit that is the same as one of the two engine options available earlier. There is also a 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 120PS power and 300Nm or torque. The car is available in only automatic transmissions. The new CR-V is also available with 4WD option, but it is limited to diesel variants only. However, its diesel engine is paired with a 9-speed ZF-sourced automatic transmission.

Price

The price for the car ranges between 28.15 lakh INR to 32.75 lakh INR (ex-showroom pan-India). The seven-seater diesel variant will rival Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mitsubishi Outlander and the five-seater petrol variant competes against Hyundai Tucson and the VW Tiguan.
