Ford has launched its Ford Aspire facelift in India and is 20,000 INR cheaper than the outgoing model. The Facelift is now available in four trims that are Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium, and Titanium+, and better safety kits as standard. Exterior and Interior
The car’s exterior and interior design are same as the Ford’s Figo-based cross-hatch that is the Freestyle. Now it has a 6.5-inch touch screen infotainment system with Ford’s Sync 3. The front bumper is also new this time with a handlebar-moustache-like black design element housing the central airdam, round foglamps and C-shaped chrome elements. It gets multi-spoke alloy wheels, updated ORVMs, while the rear features a pair of revised tail lamps with a thick chrome slat on the boot lid. The car also comes with new aircon vents along with illuminated USB sockets, auto climate control and a start-stop button.
Engine
The 2018 Ford Aspire will now have 96hp, 1.2-litre three-pot motor from the Freestyle, and the petrol-manual combination has increased from 18.16kpl to 20.4kpl. The 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine now delivers 26.1kpl. For the automatic variant there is 123hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine, which is mated to a 6-speed torque convertor unit.
Safety
The 2018 Ford Aspire gets rear parking sensors, two airbags, adjustable front and rear seat headrests and seat belts reminder. The automatic variant for the car also gets hill-start assist, ESP and traction control, while the tops-spec trim includes four more airbags and an emergency assistance service.
Price
The car will rival new Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki’s Dzire, Volkswagen’s Ameo and the Hyundai Xcent.
