The South Korean brand Hyundai has officially revealed its seventh-gen version of Sonata sedan in its home market i.e. South Korea. Though there is not any confirmed news by company but it is expected to make its Indian debut by the year 2015.
“Hyundai Motor has been pursuing qualitative growth, providing innovative experiences and values to our customers, and the all-new Sonata will be at the center of these efforts,” said Mr. Kim, Hyundai’s global CEO.
Price:
Though, the new price in INR is still behind the curtain till the India-launch but the ongoing Sonata carries the price range of around 18.79-20.88 lakhs which is expected to be hiked by this new renovation.
Engine details:
The sedan unveils in South Korea is powered by three engine units carrying 4-cylinders in each. The equipped engines are 1999cc, 2.0 liter CVVL engine (165.7bhp, 201Nm), 2359cc, 2.4 liter GDi (190.3bhp, 247Nm) and 1999cc, 2.0 liter LPi engine (148.9bhp, 194Nm). The all three trims of new Sonata are mated to 6-speed manual as well as 6-speed automatic transmission gearboxes.
Space & Dimension:
The next-gen Sonata is 35mm longer and 30 mm wider than its predecessor and now is 4855mm long, 1865mm wide and 1475mm tall which also carries the wonderful wheelbase of 2805mm.
Interior & Exterior:
At inside the cabin, the facelift sedan of Hyundai ensures the feel of luxury and has been more spacious than before. The new sedan model unveiled at Korea also gets few features of comfort n safety like heated seats, rear-side curtain airbags, new infotainment n multimedia system, lane departure warning system and cruise control with advanced technology etc.
Company has refined the exterior look of all-new Sonata with this updation and now it gets a high class, sleek style, a confident stance and a Hyundai’s family-based appearance. Hyundai has designed it with a single-frame premium 3D hexagonal grille at the front, powerful LED daytime running lights and striking rear light clusters etc which are complementing its natural beauty.
Verdict:
Hyundai’s this sedan is extremely stylish and carries a glimpse of royalty but still it somehow lacks in terms of sale. The reason is its much high price which makes it out of the competition. If company wants to achieve a high-level sale of Sonata then it’s necessary to put a thought towards this drawback.
