Launched in July 2015, Hyundai Creta is one of the bestselling cars in India. Winner of more than 25 awards including ‘Indian car of the year’, the SUV has unlocked another milestone of achieving 1 lakh bookings in just eight months. In addition, it has received over 5 lakh customer enquiries, 56,000 units have been delivered while 16,000 units have been exported, all this in just eight months.
The price of the SUV has been increased three times since its launch but surprisingly it hasn’t affected the rising sales graph of the baby Santa Fe aka Creta. With the on road price of Rs. 10 to 16 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), it still young generation favorite compact SUV and click over 7000 units a month.
There are quite a few reasons for this mind boggling success like fluidic design philosophy flanked by sweptback headlamps with LED DRLs, elegant fog lamps. The cabin is also loaded with rich features like touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, start/stop button; multi spoke steering wheel and much more.
Creta is available with both petrol and diesel engine, a 1.6l VTVT petrol mill is good for 124PS and 155Nm of torque while diesel is available with two states of tunes, one is a 1.4l U2 CRDi unit that delivers 89bhp power and 220Nm of peak torque while other is a more powerful 1.6l U2 CRDi engine that belts out 123bhp power and 260Nm of torque. Both engines are available with a six speed manual transmission as standard while 1.6L diesel gets a six speed automatic as well.
