Coming Soon: New Gen Mercedes Benz G63 AMG to launch on 5th October

Mercedes Benz has confirmed that it will launch the new gen G-Class in India on 5th October 2018. The latest model of the butch SUV made its debut internationally in January this year and its sale started in the month of June 2018.

Talking about the looks of the car, the all-new SUV like a G-class Mercedes has a boxy silhouette look with some modern elements. There are new LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, Softer curves and tighter body panels that gives the SUV a new modern touch. On the dimension part, the G-Class is 53mm longer and 121mm wider than its predecessor which might provide more inside space.

The company has maintained the iconic G-Wagon design features and just like its predecessor, the car gets pull-type door handles, door hinges on the outside, and exposed spare wheel on the back door and separate indicators places beside the bonnet.

On the interior, the car has got an entirely new cabin with a design that apes various elements seen on the exterior. The circular AC vents are inspired by round LED headlamps whereas, the dashboard-mounted speakers copy the top-mounted turn indicators. It continues to get the passenger grab handle finished in leather and the iconic three differential lock buttons that find a place between the center AC vents. The new G63 also gets the digital widescreen cockpit like other latest Mercedes cars.

As far as engine details are concerned the new G 63 AMG is powered by a 4.0-litre, V8 petrol engine that generates 585PS of power and 850Nm of torque, and is mated to a 9-speed gearbox tuned specifically for the G 63 to offer shorter shift time. The company claims the new G 63 AMG can go from 0-100kmph in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 220kmph.

Following its predecessor, the new G 63 AMG will also be imported as a CBU, so there are chances that it will be priced higher than the current model which is priced at INR 2.18 crore. The car doesn’t have any direct rival in the market but its price place it in the range of Porsche Cayenne, Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Range Rover.
