Maruti S-Presso Micro SUV to launch by Diwali 2019:
The latest report in the automotive industry claims that Maruti S-Presso will be the name that production-spec Suzuki Future S concept will keep for the Indian Market. The concept is slightly larger in size as compared to the current-gen Maruti Alto and moreover, the car will surely be safer because of the upcoming safety norms that will standardize the basic safety features on all cars in India.
The Future S concept is a straight rival to Renault Kwid and other SUV-inspired hatchbacks of India. The compact size will keep the costs under check while high bonnet and masculine stance will attract more first-time car buyers.
Maruti S-Presso nameplate will also relate to the popular S-Cross and thus, buyers can expect properties such as improved interiors, better ground clearance and premium appeal from the upcoming Micro SUV. The concept was earlier seen with huge tires but in reality, the car may feature just 14-inch wheels with decent tries to keep the budget realistic.
Talking about the engine, the possible chances are the three-cylinder, 1.0L petrol engine with BS6-compliant emissions. It might feature the bigger 4-cylinder 1.2L petrol motor for more power and comparable efficiency.
A recent report also suggests that the Maruti S-Presso Micro SUV can enter the Indian market right before the festive season (around Diwali), bringing impressive sales for the brand. S-Presso will rival Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago and other entry-level options in the country. The price range is expected to start from INR 4.50 lakh.
