The leaked images of 7th Generation Volkswagen Jetta have been surfacing all over the web which was spotted at VW’s factory in Mexico. This is for the first time new Jetta has been spied without camouflage and it is likely to make its global debut at 2017 Los Angeles Motor show. Volkswagen hasn’t confirmed its India launch but it might be showcased at next year’s Auto Expo.

The New Volkswagen Jetta is based on VW’s new MQB platform like new Polo and Tiguan SUV. The Jetta looks more angular and wider than the current model flanked by the new hexagonal grille, new LED headlamps with LED DRLs, clamshell bonnet, reminiscent to Areteon. Coming to the sides, it will get alloy wheels, strong creases running across the length and merge into LED tail lamps at the rear. At the back, it also sports dual exhaust tail pipes along with dual tone rear bumper. It also looks longer than the outgoing model.

On the inside, it is likely to get the most advanced options such as automatic climate control, new touchscreen system with Apple car play and Android Auto, multiple airbags, reverse parking camera, rear seat split, adjustable front seats and much more.

As far as powertrains are concerned, it is likely to power by same engines of Tiguan SUV in the international markets. However, in petrol 1.4l TSI could be replaced by a new 1.5l TSI while the bigger 2.0l TSI engine will remain unchanged.

In India, the ongoing Jetta comes with a 1.4l turbocharged petrol and 2.0l diesel engine. Transmission duties are taken care by a 6-speed manual and 6-speed DSG automatic gearbox. There are high chances that seventh gen Jetta might not be launched in India.
