2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport will be launched in India on 28 October this year while deliveries will commence from early November. Now, the company has officially opened the bookings for the SUV. Interested customers can book it via Online or at 25 authorised dealerships across India at a booking amount of Rs. 2-5 lakhs.

Land Rover has also revealed its prices; it starts from 68.40 lakh for the base petrol and goes all the way to Rs. 1.03 Crore (ex-showroom India) for the top variant. When launched, the competition will come from Volvo XC90, Audi Q7, BMW X5 and Mercedes Benz GLS. The brand has also confirmed that the SUV will be offered in 10 variants (5 petrol and 5 diesel).

Under the hood of new Discovery is 3.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. The former makes 335bhp power and 450Nm of high torque while the diesel engine churns out 255bhp power and 600Nm of high torque. Both the engines get 8-speed automatic gearbox and AWD as standard across the range.

At tape, the SUV measures 4970mm in length, 2073 in width, 1888mm in heights and sits on the wheelbase of 2923. As for the safety, it comes loaded with multi airbags, dynamic stability control, ABS, EBD, hill descent control, traction control, electric parking brake, reverse parking camera, hill start assists and much more.

The SUV flaunts a powerful design thanks to LED adaptive headlamps with LED daytime running lights, huge bumper with wide air intakes, new alloy wheels, character lines across the sides. The rear is typically Land Rover with wraparound LED tail lights, faux skid plates and LED reflectors.

The interiors too are traditional Land Rover with features like 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, 14 speakers Meridian digital surround system, cooled and heated seats with massage function, ambient lighting with colour options, head up display, three-zone automatic climate control and start stop button.
