Renault Lodgy Launch Confirmed for April 9th 2015

Renault India has finally announced the day of the launch of much anticipated Lodgy MPV, The French car maker will launch Lodgy MPV in India on 9 April 2015. The Lodgy will be offered only in Diesel engine and aimed to take on Toyota Innova, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Chevrolet Tavera. The Bookings for Lodgy have already commenced at the refundable amount of Rs. 50,000 INR.

Powering the Lodgy will be the 1.5L K9K diesel engine with two state of tunes 85PS and 110PS. Lodgy will be available with a 5 speed and a 6-speed manual transmissions.  The 85PS variant delivers 21.8 KMPL ARAI certified mileage while 110PS returns 19.98 KMPL. Lodgy pose certain advantage over its chief rival as Innova now looks dated, produces less power and its less fuel efficient than Lodgy.

Renault Lodgy is a Full size MPV and with the wheelbase of 2810mm it is one of the spacious MPV in the country. The Lodgy is available with two seating arrangements- 7 and 8 seat. Lodgy offers 207 liters of boot space with all rows while 1861 liters of boot space can be extorted with third row removed and 2nd row folded down.

On the design Front, Lodgy is slightly different from Renault’s other cars, it gets two slate chrome front grille with company’s logo, boxy stance, swept back headlamp units, side profile is pretty simple, neat and gets 15 inch alloy wheels, while rear profile is hit or miss.

Lodgy is a feature rich MPV and will come with features like touchscreen infotainment system, with MEDIANAV satellite navigation, dual tone interiors, 12V power sockets for all three rows, cruise control, beige leather upholstery for all seats, A/C vents for 2nd and 3rd rows, rear parking camera, ABS, EBD, airbags and impact sensing auto door-unlock.

Renault Lodgy will have tremendous potential in the country considering the Ertiga and Toyota sells over 5000 units a month. Renault Lodgy is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 8 to Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
