Mahindra & Mahindra, an Indian car manufacturer is in process to launch the facelift model of its muscular SUV Scorpio. The updated model has been caught many times on road in the procedure of testing. However, no official statement regarding the possible changes in this car has come by the company yet but it is said to get the some major renovations in its interior and exterior profile while the under hood will be remained same.

Note: The mentioned facts here are yet to be confirmed by the company and hence could be changed by the launch.

As far as its launch date is concerned, first it was being expected that company would launch it in 12th Auto Expo held in February 2014 but it didn’t happen. If reports are to believe then it might hit the floor sometime in festive season i.e. from August onwards, as the sales figure hikes on a major scale in between that time period.

Price:

The new updated price will be confirmed only by the launch though but the price range is expected to get a slight hike. The ongoing model carries price tags within bracket of 7.91-12.45 lakhs.

Engine details:

Reportedly, it will continue with both the same diesel engines which are a 2.2 liter m-Hawk turbo and 2.5 liter m2DiCR producing max power of 120bhp and 75bhp respectively. The new 2014 Scorpio will be available in both 4×2 (two-wheel drive) and 4×4 (four-wheel drive) systems. The engine will be mated to 6-speed manual along with 5-speed automatic gearbox as optional.

Exterior & Interior:

According to the spy shots caught while Mahindra was testing the 2014 Scorpio, it is expectedly to get many updations at inside and outside. These modifications might include all-new grille, projector headlamps, redesigned tail lamps, modified rear bumpers, tailgate, new rectangular AC vents on dashboard, dual zoned instrument cluster with tachometer on the left while speedometer on the right etc.
