Mahindra KUV100 is finally available with Explorer Kit in India

Mahindra kicked off the micro SUV segment by launching KUV100 in January this year which became company’s best selling product in May 2016 with 4446 units beating likes of Bolero, Scorpio and XUV500. The small car has delivered big sales numbers for Mahindra till now and to further capitalize on the growing numbers, Mahindra is offering KUV100 with accessories kit.

Christened as explorer kit, it has been available for Rs. 50,000 more over the price of standard model and offers range of customization options. This explorer edition has been showcased at the 2016 Auto expo and it received great response from the spectators.

So what this explorer kit includes? It provide car with faux bash plates on front and rear bumpers, moulding on wheel arches, side skirts, front bull bar, bonnet scoops and door mouldings. Additionally, it features LED brake lights with rear spoiler, taillight protector and bug reflectors.

Mahindra has not made any changes inside the cabin it continue to feature touchscreen head up display, rear view camera, mood lighting for inner door handles, flexi six seat option, puddle lamps for all doors, cooled glove box, electric steering wheel with tilt function and height adjustable driver seat and 12V socket for 1st and 2nd row.

It remains mechanically unchanged; KUV100 is available with 1.2 litre petrol engine that belts out 81bhp power@5500rpm and 114Nm of torque between 3500-3600rpm. The diesel gets 1.2l turbo mFalcon D75 engine that yield out 76bhp@3750rpm and 190Nm of max torque@1750-2250rpm and delivers an efficient mileage of 25.32 Kmpl. Both the powertrains are paired to a five speed manual gearbox.

The KUV100 retails an average of 5000 units a month and available at Rs. 4.56 lakh to 6.18 lakh for the petrol variant while diesel version is priced at Rs. 5.48 lakh to Rs. 7.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
