The Italian carmaker Fiat didn’t have much to offer at the 2016 Auto Expo except for the Punto Pure, Linea 125s and Avventura Urban Cross. While Punto Pure has already launched while we don’t know about the Linea 125s but next in-line to hit Indian shores is Avventura Urban Cross. As per the reports, the market launch of crossover is scheduled at upcoming festive season during Diwali.
It is rugged version of Avventura crossover which measures 3989mm in length, 1706mm width, 1542mm in height and rides on the similar wheelbase of standard crossover. The car looks marvelous and dynamic thanks to LED daytime running lights, revamped front grille, new front bumper with integrated circular chrome accents fog lamps. The urban cross also gets new alloy wheels, silver roof rails and new color shades making car a treat of watch.
The Crossover will be equipped with a 5 inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, automatic climate control, inclinometer, compass, soft touch leather dashboard, cruise control, rear parking sensors, dual front airbags, ABS (Anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake force distribution), rain sensing wipers etc.
Powering it will be the 1.4l T-jet turbocharged petrol engine that belts out 138bhp of max output@550rpm and 210Nm of peak torque between 2000-4000rpm. The car might also sport the standard 1.3l Multijet diesel engine of Avventura that delivers 91bhp@4000rpm and 209Nm of high torque@2000rpm. Both the engines employ a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Urban cross Avventura is expected to price higher than standard Avventura which is currently available at Rs. 6.80 lakh to 8.84 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Fiat Avventura hasn’t really set the sales chart on fire since its launch; the crossover is a rare sight on Indian roads. As per the launch, the urban cross will be introduced by Diwali while Linea 125s might roll out by end of this year.
