Volkswagen’s refreshed Polo has been revealed with some subtle changes in engine, interior and exteriors, Volkswagen has taken off the covers over new Polo ahead of its Debut in Upcoming Paris motor show. Polo GTI will on sale in Europe soon after its Debut in Paris motor show. New Polo GTI looks more stylish and Sportier than its predecessors.
The 1.4L Turbocharged four cylinder engine will be replaced by more powerful 1.8L four Cylinder Turbocharged engine which is from EA888 Audi’s family. Sadly Volkswagen has no plans to introduce this 1.8L engine in India, but India will be getting GT TSI and GTI TDI in near future.
As a result of more powerful engine the power and torque also gets improved, 1.8L engine replacing 1.4L engine which now develops 189.4BHP power which was earlier 177BHp power and Torque also improved by 70nm with 320nm. Effect can be seen on its acceleration speed, Polo GTI now sprints 0-100 km/h in 6.7 sec which is improved by 0.2 sec with the top speed of 236km/h. This engine can be either spiced up with either Volkswagen’s DSG automatic transmission or 6 Speed manual gearbox.
Exterior gets new front and rear bumpers, new GTI badge, honey comb grille, red accents, tailgate spoilers and most attractive of them is Multi spoke steering wheel which adds to the sporty looks of the car.
On the inside you will notice latest changes given to the hot hatchback, staring with the new multi function leather packed steering wheel supported by elegant red stitching, touch screen infotainment system, sporty chequered seat upholstery with red stitching, piano black finish with metal finishing. Maximum overall layout of Cabin is basically based on Red-black color which gives you premium feel and luxury touch to the ambience of the car.
Besides all this, Suspension gets Sports select option which features adaptive damping control.
