The Ameo, the latest compact sedan from the German car giant has received decent response from the buyers. The made in India and Made for India car which was launched last month is available with petrol engine as of now. Now, Volkswagen is working on the diesel version of Ameo with retuned version of 1.5l TDI engine. Ameo with TDI badge has been spotted in Maharashtra and it is expected to hit the roads in October this year.
After debuting in Ameo, the retuned diesel engine to soon follow in new Polo, Vento and even Skoda Rapid. As of now there is no confirmed information regarding the exact out but it will be retuned for better performance and fuel efficiency.
Reports suggest that it might come in two states of tunes– 90PS power and 230Nm of torque and 105PS and 250Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a seven speed DSG automatic gearbox.
The diesel Avatar will share the same features and elements of petrol disguise such as touchscreen system with Apple car play, anti-pinch windows for all four windows, cruise control, rain sensing wipers, telescopic and tilt steering wheel, dual front airbags, ABS, body colored ORVMs with turn indicators and much more.
Volkswagen has recently introduced number of after sales service packages for Ameo- Care and Care plus. The Volkswagen care package includes an extended warranty for 80000 kms or 2+1 years, road assistance programme 24/7, one free inspection between the second and third service, repair cost minimization etc. The care plus package offers an extended warranty for 2+2 years or 1, 00,000 kms, service pack value for 4 years/ 60,000 kms, roadside assistance for 2+2 years, two free inspections and free dry wash for once in four years.
The diesel is expected to start at Rs. 6.2 lakh while the top variant might fall in the bracket of Rs. 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
