India’s popular and largest utility vehicle maker Mahindra today has launched its new Mild hybrid technology ‘Intelli Hybrid’ on the new GEN Scorpio. The SUV with this latest technology is available with very affordable price of Rs. 9.74 lakh for the S4 trim and it goes up to Rs. 14.01 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) for the top end S10 AWD version.

The new GEN Scorpio has added another feather in its cap when it comes to new technologies. Just to remind, Scorpio was the first to introduce 6-speed automatic with CRDe engine, first to introduce Voice messaging system (VMS), first to introduce Micro hybrid start stop technology and now it’s become first model to feature this new technology.

Now what’s this new technology do?

The new technology is claimed to reduce the fuel consumption by up to 7 percent by aiding the engine with electric power during acceleration process and automatically shuts down the engine when it is at idle (start stop). It also re-uses the brake energy to charge up the battery.

This new technology has been made available with tried and tested 2.2 litre mHawk engine with following variants- S4, S4+, S4+ 4wd, S6+, S8, S10-2WD (Manual Transmission) and S10-4WD (Manual Transmission.
