January 2015 witnessed number of new car launches and new variants of some popular cars so moving into February 2015 which will see an array of new car launches from renowned car brands like Hyundai, Volkswagen etc.
Mercedes Benz C- Class Diesel (11th February 2015)-
After the launch of CLA class in the month of January the German car maker Mercedes will come up with yet another luxury offering in the form of new C Class 220 CDI diesel on 11th February 2015. Mercedes has launched C200 petrol model last year in India as a complete CBU unit and it will be launched in fully loaded top trim only.
New C class diesel to sport features like 8.4 inch infotainment screen with satellite navigation, three zone auto climate control, rear view camera and bluetooth connectivity. Inside the cabin C class diesel to get LED ambient lighting with three color options, 13 speaker burmester audio system, panoramic sunroof, push button start etc.
As a result of CBU unit expect C 220 CDI diesel to be Rs. 1 lakh pricey than the C200 petrol version.
Hyundai Verna facelift (16th February 2015)-
The south Korean car maker Hyundai who had a fantastic 2014 with record sales and Elite i20 getting car of the year award is all set to launch Verna facelift of 16th February 2015. Hyundai Verna was a bestselling car for Hyundai and dominated C2 Sedan segment for some time until Honda city dethroned it from the top spot. Honda City still manages to retail over 5000 units a month as compared to 1500-2000 units of Verna.
2015 Verna will have more cosmetic changes than the interior or mechanical changes like new front fascia with new grille, new projector headlamps and LED tail lamps etc. While mechanically it will remain same while one if it’s variant might get a 6 speed AT transmission. Too much variation is not expected in price range of new Verna.
Volkswagen Jetta facelift (17th February 2015) –
Volkswagen’s premium offering Jetta is going to be launch in a new outlook with some new features on 17th February 2015. New Jetta will feature some changes like slimmer tail lamps, new headlamps with DRLs, new alloy wheels etc. On the inside new Jetta will sport a new corporate steering wheel, revised instrument cluster with new gauges etc.
Under the hood new Jetta will continue to get power from 1.4L TSI petrol and 2.0L TDI diesel engine though it diesel variant might get 10bhp boost in power. Expect new Jetta to be priced in 16-20 lakh bracket.
BMW i8 (18th February 2015)-
BMW to launch its hybrid sports car on 18th of this month which possess of a petrol engine with an electric motor. This performance super car will launched as CBU unit so expect it to cost around 1.5-2 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) and it will be imported in limited numbers.
BMW i8 will be powered by a turbocharged petrol mill giving 228bhp power and 320Nm torque while the electric motor emits 128bhp power and 250Nm torque so both these motors collectively produces 357bhp power and i8 can accelerate 0-100 km in just 4.4 seconds with the top speed of 250 km/hr.
