Renault Duster will get the petrol automatic soon in India and it would be priced at Rs. 10.30 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Based on new RXS trim, it will be slotted between RXL and RXZ and will be powered by a smaller 1.5l petrol engine and a 6-speed semi-automatic transmission. The petrol CVT would be offered in a new fiery red paint color. The compact SUV has been a volume generator for the French carmaker and regarded as one of the successful cars in its segment. The CVT iteration will take on Hyundai Creta SX+ auto, Ford EcoSport 1.5 AT and Honda BR-V CVT.
The smaller 1.5l 4-cylinder petrol engine develops max output of 98bhp@6000rpm and 134Nm of torque@4000rpm. It is expected to deliver an ARAI rated mileage of 14.99 Kmpl while petrol manual churns out 13.06 Kmpl of mileage.
If Renault manages to keep at aforementioned price then it would come as one of the affordable petrol AT SUV in the country. It arch rival Hyundai Creta AT is priced at Rs. 12.99 lakhs while Honda BR-V is available for Rs. 12.26 lakhs. However, Ford EcoSport AT comes at an affordable price tag of Rs. 9.99 lakhs. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
Apart from new paint scheme, the design would remain similar with blackened front grille, hawk eye headlamps, 15-inch gunmetal alloy wheels and waterfall LED tail lamps. For features, it sports red contrast interiors, 7-inch MediaNAV touchscreen infotainment system with voice recognition, anti-pinch windows, cruise control, rear armrest with two cup holders, dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) etc.
