Volkswagen has launched limited sports edition of Polo GT in India, the special edition is available in both TSI and TDI grades. The Polo GT TSI cost at Rs. 9.71 lakh while Polo GT TDI is priced at Rs. 9.81 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) makes it costlier by 20,000 and 25,000 respectively over the standard GT trims. These editions will be on sale for three months only. Both remain mechanically unchanged and continue to be powered by the same set of engines.
Polo GT Sport comes with new 16-inch Portago alloy wheels, GT moniker on the front grille, black roof top, side decals at the bottom with GT label, black ORVMs, TSI/TDI badging, new larger black spoiler to set itself apart from the regular variants.
The hot hatchback will be available in Candy white and flash red colour options. Its cabin has been garnished with leatherette finished GT sport embossed seat covers. It also gets dual tone shade fabric seats.
The Polo GT TSI is powered by a 1.2l TSI turbocharged petrol motor that makes 103.5bhp power and 175Nm of torque, linked to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. It claims an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 17.21 Kmpl. Polo GT TDI gets juice from 1.5l TDI oil burner which is good for 108.5bhp power and 250Nm of torque. This engine is linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
