Earlier we told you about the plans of Tata Motors to launch its new compact sedan Zest in Indian market soon by the end of July this year. And now the reports are that company has started to accept its pre bookings as well. One can book the trendy Zest at company’s nearest showrooms or online by paying Rs. 21,000. Further, if you will want to cancel your booking then this amount of 21,000 will be refunded.
Though, company has not disclosed the exact details and prices of this car yet and one can only select from petrol or diesel models for pre-booking as of now. As per the company, the other information about price, variants etc will be given only during the launch.
The Zest will be equipped by two types of fuel units i.e. petrol and diesel. While the turbocharged petrol unit is of 1.2 liter based on Revotron technology and develops 88.7bhp and 140Nm of max output and torque respectively, the diesel engine is of 1.3 liter deriving same 88.7bhp of max power but more torque of 200Nm.
Further, while its petrol unit will be mated to only a 5-speed manual transmission, the diesel engine, along with 5-speed manual, is also getting AMT (automatic manual transmission) which is first in segment.
In India, Tata’s this compact sedan will compete with other popular same segment models like Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Xcent.
It is expected to be priced between 5.5 lakhs to 7.5 lakhs.
To make the Zest’s entry grand in Indian car market, company is also running a campaign across India in which Tata’s new Zest is being displayed at different different malls and test drive is also being provided to the interested ones.
