It’s the next generation swift hatchback which has been making headlines for quite some time now and spied multiple times. The hatch will be revealed at 2017 Geneva Motor show while its launch is slated for sometime in 2017. In the meantime, we could expect new Swift Dzire as its test mule has been spotted on Indian soil for the first time.
The car was spotted near carmaker’s manufacturing plant in Manesar, Haryana. It is reported to be manufactured in company’s Becharaji plant, Gujarat which is wholly owned by Suzuki. The sedan is expected to underpin same light weight platform with next Gen swift. The duos collectively generate over 29,000 units a month for the Indo-Japanese carmaker and new models of both would help brand to maintain its supremacy in the market.
Maruti seems to be in aggressive mood with new launches, Baleno RS and Ignis are already due for market launch soon. Going by the spy shots, next gen Dzire seems to wear new design appearance to make it more appealing than the current model. The 2017 Dzire flaunts a new Audi like front grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, circular fog lamps. One cannot deny host of changes at side and rear profiles of the compact sedan which might include new C-pillars, wraparound taillights and new bumper.
Beside complete makeover, transformation will be carried inside as well including updated cabin space. Expect new sporty seats, new upholstery, revised HVAC control, new Smartplay touchscreen system with navigation, rear AC vents, push start button with Keyless entry, new dashboard design, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and much more. The interior scheme is likely to remain in dual beige color.
Under the hood though, things are likely to remain untouched, it will continue to get 1.2 l petrol and 1.3 l DDis diesel engine. It could also receive a 1.0litre boosterjet engine. The transmission duties will be taken care by manual as well as automatic gearbox. However, the lightweight platform would make things interesting for enthusiasts. Once launched, its dominance will be challenged against Honda Amaze, Ford Figo Aspire, Hyundai Xcent and Volkswagen Ameo.
