New Hyundai Verna has been one of the most anticipated models of 2017 and the South Korean carmaker has been teasing the car for a while now to keep the hype going. Launched in Russia, China and North America, now India will get the taste of third gen Accent which was renamed Verna particularly for the Indian market. Hyundai has opened pre-bookings for the sedan at select dealerships for an amount of Rs. 25,000.
Hyundai has just released new Verna’s first teaser video ahead of its official launch on 22nd August 2017. Upon its launch, it will take on new Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento. It will be based on brand’s iconic Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy and would be majorly based on bigger Elantra.
2017 Verna is 15mm longer, 29mm wide and has a longer wheelbase of 10mm against the current model. The boot space has been increased by 16 litres, though the new Verna is heavier by 10 kg as compared to current model.
The new design would be complemented by projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, multi slate chrome accented cascading front grille, new bumper with fog lamps, and handsome side character lines, new alloy wheel and Elantra based LED tail lamps.
On the inside, the dashboard layout will be based on Elite i20 hatchback with features like new 8.0 inch touchscreen system with Android Auto, Apple car play, automatic climate control with rear ac vents, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, keyless entry, push start button, six airbags, reverse parking camera, ABS with EBD and much more.
Engine options are likely to remain unchanged for new Verna i.e. 1.4 l and 1.6l petrol and diesel engines. Transmission option includes a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and a new 6-speed automatic gearbox.
