Renault India had a silent 2014 with dismal sales figure, earlier we told you that Renault has stalled the production of Pulse and Scala. But to get back on track Renault India launched refreshed Pulse hatchback with some added features and equipments. Renault India will also launch Lodgy MPV in the coming months and the entry level XBA hatchback sometime in this year.
Price:
The updated Pulse hatchback is on sale now at the starting price of Rs. 5.03 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the petrol variant and ends at Rs. 5.78 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) while the Diesel trim starts at Rs. 5.90 lakh and goes up to Rs. 6.79 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi).
Engine Details:
There are no mechanical changes done in New Pulse Hatchback continues to get power from 1.2L petrol motor and a 1.5L K9K diesel box. The 1.2L petrol motor produces 75bhp power@6000rpm and 104Nm torque@4000rpm, while the 1.5L oil burner able to return 63bhp power@4000rpm and 160Nm torque@2000rpm.
Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with the (FWD) front wheel drive system.
The Petrol motor gives an efficient mileage of 18.06 KMPL while 1.5L K9K diesel motor returns 23.08 KMPL ARAI certified mileage.
Space and Dimensions:
Renault Pulse is a five seater hatchback with 3805mm length, 1665mm width and 1530mm height for petrol variants and 1525mm for the diesel ones with the wheelbase of 2450mm. Boot capacity of Pulse hatchback is 251 liters which better than Maruti Suzuki Swift.
Exterior and Interior:
Renault India has updated Pulse hatchback with automatic headlamps while except this change Pulse cosmetically remains same. Front fascia flaunts a muscular look with a moustache adorns a large Renault diamond logo with small air dams. Side profile looks like Nissan Micra except the different alloy wheels and rear side gets a conventional tail lights with dual tone bumper.
Get Inside the cabin and you will find some changes like a new dual tone dashboard garnished with piano black finish central console, steering wheels with mounted controls, height adjustable driver seat, push engine start stop button with smart key access while other features remains same 2DIN audio system with bluetooth connectivity, USB, Aux-In, 4 speakers etc. Other features include A/C with heater, on-board trip computer, automatic climate control, door ajar warning, keyless entry and many more features.
Colors:
Pulse hatchback is available in six different colors– Metallic Silver, Pearl White, Solid Black, Metallic Grey, Cosmos Blue and Metallic Red.
Safety:
In safety department Pulse hatchback is equipped with Driver side airbag as standard, passenger airbag, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic braking distribution (EBD), brake assist, speed sensing auto door lock, high-mounted stop lamp, engine immobilizer and crash sensors.
