Hyundai India has finally launched New Verna known as Verna 4S after so many speculations and rumors. Verna 4S is based on Hyundai’s Fluidic 2.0 design technology that carries number of cosmetic changes. This new Verna is available in other markets as Solaris. Current Verna was launched around four years ago so it is a much needed facelift for Verna to boost up the sales as its chief competitor Honda city already got a refreshed version and Maruti Suzuki has also launched Ciaz sedan in the market. New Verna features many cosmetic changes which will help Verna because in last few months Verna’s monthly sales drop below 2000 units mark which is quite low as compared to Honda City’s 6000 units and 4000 units of Ciaz.

Hyundai Verna 4S is offered in both petrol and diesel variants- Petrol Verna 4S cost Rs. 7.73 lakhs which goes up to Rs. 10.15 lakh for the top SX variant while its diesel avatar is priced at Rs. 8.94 lakhs for the base variant and Rs. 12.19 lakh for the top automatic SX variant.

Engine Details:
New Hyundai Verna 4S will retain the same engine options 1.4L and 1.6L petrol and diesel engines. Petrol Version comes with 1.4L VTVT engine with 105bhp power@6300rpm and 138Nm torque@5000rpm while it’s 1.6L VTVT MT mill with 121bhp power@63000rpm and 154Nm torque@4200rpm.
Diesel engine also includes two engine options- 1.4L U2 CRDI diesel box delivers 89bhp power@4000rpm and 219Nm of peak torque@1750-2750rpm and 1.6L diesel mill that delivers 126bhp power@4000rpm and 259Nm of peak torque@1900-2750rpm.
On fuel efficiency front 1.4L VTVT petrol engine returns 17.43 KPL mileage while diesel engines economy up by few percent, 1.4L diesel trim now gives 24.8 KPL and 1.6L diesel returns 23.9 KPL of fuel efficiency.
The transmission options available – 5 speed manual, a 6 speed manual and a 4 speed automatic.
Space and Dimensions:
Dimensionally New Verna 4S remains same with 4375mm length, 1700mm wide and 1475mm height and with the wheelbase of 2570mm. 165mm of ground clearance is sufficient to absorb potholes and bumpiness of Indian roads.
Exterior and interiors:
New Hyundai Verna is christened as Fluidic 4S Verna because it is based on Hyundai new 2.0 Fluidic technology and 4S stands for Style, Sophisticated interior, Safety and speed.
New Hyundai 4S Verna carries an array of cosmetic changes like new dual slat front grille replacing the hexagonal grille, new bumper with new fog lamps housing with L shaped LED strips, new bonnet while side profile remains same and rear side gets minimal changes like new rear combi tail lights, revised bumper with integrated reflectors. Overall design looks refreshing and aggressive that might help Verna to regain the lost top spot.
Interiors of new Verna remain almost same except the new 2 DIN Audio system with bluetooth and 1GB internal memory, engine start/stop button, new multi function steering wheel, cooling glove box, new ERGO lever, tilt and telescopic steering wheel. Overall design, ambience and interiors of New Verna remain same like wood grain finish central console, leather pack for steering, gear knob, centre and driver armrest, chrome garnishing at A/C vents, door handles, blue illumination lights for instrumental console, fully automatic air conditioning, tilt adjustable driver seat and many more features.

New Hyundai Verna 4S is available in five adoring colors which are Sleek Silver, Stardust, Phantom Black, Red passion and Pure White.
Safety:
As far as safety is concerned New Hyundai Verna 4S comes equipped with 6 airbags that includes driver, co-passenger, side and curtain airbags, impact sensing auto door lock-unlock, reverse camera with display assistance, rear parking sensors, front fog lamps, rear defoggers with timer, clutch lock system, projector headlamps with escort function, central locking, engine immobilizer and headlight control. Apart from these features new Verna has received 5 stars in EURO NCAP tests.
