Maruti Suzuki has finally launched new Alto K10 on 3rd November 2014 at the grand event in New Delhi. Maruti Alto K10 was first launched in 2010 which finally receives an upgrade after four years. New Alto K10 gets cosmetic as well as some interior change but more importantly an automatic gearbox. The most popular Hatch Alto K10 is available in six variants i.e. LX, LXi, Vxi, VXi (O), VXi (AT) and a CNG variant.  New Alto K10 will compete with Datsun Go and Hyundai Eon.

Price:

New Alto K10 starts at the affordable price of Rs. 3.06 lakh for the base variant which ends up at Rs. 3.56 lakh. The AMT version of Alto K10 is available at the price of Rs. 3.80 lakh which is a cheapest automatic car in India and the CNG version of K10 is available for Rs. 3.81 lakh. All the above mentioned prices are ex showroom Delhi.

Engine Details:

The engine is retained from previous GEN Alto K10, the 3 cylinder 1.0 litre Petrol engine which is able to produce 67.1 BHP power@6200rpm and 90Nm torque@3500rpm coupled with 5 speed manual and AMT known as ASG (auto gear shift). K10 is based on front wheel drive system.

Fuel efficiency of petrol version also sees an improvement which is now at 24.07 km/L and it sprints 0-60 km in mark in 5.3 seconds.

Alto K10 is also available in CNG version which produces 67.1 BHP power on gasoline mode with 90Nm torque and 58.2BHP power on CNG mode with 78Nm Torque. CNG variant of Alto K10 returns efficient mileage of 32.36 km/kg mated to 5 speed manual transmission.

Space & Dimensions:

There is a change in the measurement of new K10 from previous GEN Alto K10; the new Alto K10 is now 15mm wide, 15mm higher and 75mm lesser in length than previous model. The dimensions of new alto k10 now stand at 3545mm length, 1490mm width and 1475mm height. Wheelbase and boot capacity of Alto k10 remains same 2360mm and 177 liter respectively.

New Alto K10 has 160mm of ground clearance, 4.6m as turning radius and seating capacity of 5 persons.

Exterior and Interior:

New Alto K10 despite of an automatic version has also some witness some cosmetic and internal changes. Front side of new Alto K10 is now looks sharper and aggressive. Front fascia of New Alto K10 now gets big swept back headlamps; Single chrome line under the bonnet with Maruti’s Logo, stylish circular fog lamps surrounded by darkened black plastic, side profile of new Alto K10 is now embedded with body colored ORVM’s, door handles, side protected moldings and 13 inch wheels. While rear is also redesigned with combo taillights and look better than its previous model.

Now it’s time analysis the interior changes, Cabin changes are more elegant than Exterior with features like dual tone dashboard, Piano black finish audio system with USB, AUX support, three spoke steering wheel with airbag module, premium upholstery, internally adjusted ORVM’s and front power windows. Cabin is now more premium than the current ongoing model and is another example of Maruti’s continuous effort towards improving its interior quality.

Colors:

New Alto K10 is available in total six attractive colors which are Superior white, Silky Silver, Fire Brick Red, Granite Grey, Cerulean Blue and Tango Orange. Last three colors are new introductions by Maruti.

Safety:

From safety point of view new Alto K10 now offers driver airbag in the top variant, apart from that new Alto K10 is equipped with safety features like 3 point ELR front seat belts, child proof rear locks, keyless entry, front fog lamps and high mounted stop lamps adds to the safe element of new Alto K10.

Verdict:

India’s cheapest automatic variant new Alto K10 with new design technology, improved fuel efficiency and competitive price range is all set to turn the tables for Maruti in a positive way. The overall package seems mouth watering but the main thing lies in the performance of AMT version.
