News on launch of Hyundai Grand i10 Automatic

Hyundai Grand i10 is a smartly designed, spacious and premium hatchback which has been achieving a great success since its launch. And now, on the demand of people, the manufacturer of this hatchback has also introduced its automatic version on 8th November of this year.

This automatic version has launched in Grand i10’s two ongoing variants and named as Grand Sportz AT and Grand Asta AT. The cost of these two variants is 5.64 lakhs (Sportz AT) and 5.92 lakhs (Asta AT).

It is powered with same 1.2 liter Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine like its predecessor but this time mated with newly 4-speed automatic transmissiongearbox. This engine will produce same 81bhp@ 6000rpm of max power and peak torque of 113.75Nm@ 4000rpm. While the fuel tank capacity is 43 liters, the ARAI certified mileage is said to be 16.7 km/l.

No changes have been done in its dimension, it offers same dimension of 3765mm*1660mm*1520mm along with the wheel base and boot space of 2425mm and 256 liters respectively having seating capacity for five passengers.

The entire interior, exterior as well as safety features are same as the corresponding manual variant including swept back headlamp and tail lampchrome grille, LED turning indicators, stylish roof rails, rear spoiler, fog lamps, alloy wheels, rear wiper, micro roof antenna, rear AC vents, 2-din integrated audio, smart push button start/stop, driver seat height adjuster, cooled glove box, luggage lamp, rear defogger, ABS system, reverse parking sensors, day/night mirror, power windows and many more.

The ongoing variants of Grand i10 are delivering an optimum performance but give a balanced and stable speed only at a limit of 100km/h, and feel heavy on driving above 100km/h. Now it would be interesting to see what improvement has done with these new automatic variants.

Though the overall performance of Grand i10 manual transmission variants is satisfactory, but the users were definitely missing the automatic transmission, this is the obvious reason behind this new launch and undoubtedly company wants to sale more units of this hatchback by offering this option.
