The Italian marque Ferrari has finally introduced the 458 Italia successor in the country christened as 488 GTB at a jaw dropping price of Rs. 3.88 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) which is available to buy across all Ferrari dealerships in India. Ferrari made its comeback into Indian market in November 2015 with launch of California T and new dealerships in Delhi and Mumbai.
Engine Details:
The Ferrari 488 GTB is more powerful than its predecessor and it is powered by an all aluminium 3.9 litre turbocharged engine that produces massive power output of 661bhp@8000rpm and 760Nm of peak torque@3000rpm. It is matched to same 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox seen on 458.
The car can make 0-100 km/hr in unbelievable 3 seconds and 200km/hr in brisk 8.3 seconds while the top speed is limited to 330km/hr. The fuel efficiency has improved to 8.77KMPL from 7.3 KMPL.
Space and Dimensions:
The two seater supercar measures 4568 mm in length, 1952 mm in width, and 1213 mm in height which makes it 41mm longer and 16mm wide than its outgoing model. It has a wheelbase of 2,650 mm and boot capacity stands on 230 liters.
Exterior:
The 488 GTB is based on company’s new design frame and makes it more gorgeous car. It shares some common elements with 458 Italia like similar silhouette while LED DRL powered headlights are now sleeker, bumper has been redesigned and air dam is now widened. The nose is now sharper than ever for better aerodynamics.
The air in takes on the sides is divided into two and big air intakes along with the central tunnel let better air inflow and leads air to intercoolers. It also gets new rear diffuser with dual exhausts carrying new design. Apart from these improvements, the chic car is made on all new light weight chassis which result it to bring down the overall weight considerably.
Interior:
Get inside the cabin; you will get the familiar F1 type steering wheel with Manettino drive mode selector and oodles of buttons for chassis control, engine start and damper setting. The cabin is beautifies by the presence of carbon fibre, colored leather upholstery, personalized stitching. There is no infotainment system like 458 but you get 16 channel 12 speaker JBL audio system and instrument console with digital shift indicator, RPM meter and configurable screen.
Safety:
The two door wonder car now gets improved overall dynamics thanks side slip angle control system to boost longitudinal acceleration, new ceramic brakes, new GEN ESP with improved ABS. Thanks to controlled electronic rear differential, race specified traction and stiffened shock absorbers reduces the chances of slip and crash.
