The General motors’ has silently rolled out the updated version of its premium sedan Chevrolet Cruze and it is expected to be final upgraded version before the all new model arrives on the shores. The facelift arrives with aesthetic changes and some feature upgrades which would help it keep at pace against the competitors like Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Corolla Altis, Volkswagen Jetta etc.
Price:
The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze is available in three variants with the price starts from Rs. 14.68 lakhs for the LT variant and it goes up to Rs. 16.75 lakhs for the top LTZ MT trim. The Automatic version is available for Rs. 17.81 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
Engine Details:
Under the hood, the facelift Cruze remains untouched and it continues to draw power from a 2.0l VCDi diesel mill that produces 164bhp power@3800rpm and 380Nm of high torque, paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The fuel efficiency stands at 17.9kmpl for the manual while the AT returns 14.81 KMPL.
Space and Dimensions:
The new Cruze remains same in terms of size and measures 4597mm long, 1788mm wide and 1477mm tall. It comes with a long wheelbase of 2685mm to ensure decent amount of space availability inside the cabin for the occupants. To tackle with rough and pothole stocked roads it gets 165mm of ground clearance.
Exterior and Interior:
On the design front, the vehicle gets revised front fascia flanked by new chrome plated dual port grille, sporty bumpers with striking LED DRLs and new projector fog lamps that bumps up the sporty quotient of the sedan. Sides have been dominated by new alloy wheels, chrome accent window frames, heated and power foldable ORVMs. The rear remains same except for the new integrated spoiler lip and some minor tweak to make it an attractive preposition.
On the inside the dashboard and overall design is inspired by one of the premium model of the company and comes bundled with features like 7 inch MY-Link touchscreen infotainment system with grace note, SIRI eyes free, internet radio, sticher, USB, Aux-in compatibility. In addition it gets electric sunroof, keyless start, rain sensing wipers, audio streaming, voice recognition, bluetooth telephony etc. Other highlights include new controls for HVAC climate control and vehicle personalization settings, jet black seats with titanium stitch underline, new leather packed multi function steering wheel and wraparound theme.
Colors:
The facelift executive sedan is offered in seven chic color shades which are Switchblade silver, Atlantis blue, Summit white, Caviar black, Velvet Red, Sandrift Grey and Diamond white.
Safety:
As for the safety of the passengers, the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze dual front and side airbags, ABS with EBD and electric sensors, anti-theft alarm, engine immobilizer, auto door unlock feature in case of crash, dual horn, passive entry passive start system, height adjustable front seat belts, dual horn etc.
