Ford Mustang makes India debut; will go on sale in the Q2 2016

The American car manufacture Ford has officially unveiled the iconic Mustang in India and launch of it will take place in the 2nd Quarter of this year. The cult model has been there for five decades now but this is for the first time ever Mustang is making to Indian shores and in right hand drive configuration (RHD). Unlike other models, the supercar will be brought to the country via CBU route from Fiat rock, Michigan.

In the International markets, it is offered with three engine options- 2.3 litre EcoBoost turbocharged petrol mill good for 306bhp power and peak torque of 434Nm and a 3.7 litre V6 petrol engine that belts out 296bhp power and 380Nm of peak torque. The top spec 5.0 litre V8 engine offers a massive 429bhp output and 529Nm of peak torque. Out of the three India will get only the powerful 5.0 litre V8 petrol mill matched to a 6-speed select shift automatic transmission with four driving modes- Normal, track, sport+ and Wet/Snow.

The Pony car with long hood and muscular stance makes it stylish and contemporary. The HID headlamps with LED DRLs, modish alloy wheels, large grille embedded with Mustang’s logo add extra tinge of sportiness and aggressiveness to the new Mustang. The side profile looks well proportionate and rear with tri-slat LED tail lamps compliments the pony car image of the supercar.

To match the charm and elegance of exterior profile Ford has loaded it with features including leather bucket seats, Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system, adaptive cruise control, intelligent with start/stop button, My color gauges, reach and rake adjustable steering wheel, dual zone HVAC system etc.

For safety, it is loaded with multiple airbags, cross traffic alert, blind spot information system, rear camera, ABS, EBD, post collision safety system, ESP, traction control and many more. The mustang will be available with range of color shades such as Race red, triple yellow tri-coat, oxford white, absolute black and Magnetic.

Ford hasn’t disclosed the prices during official unveil but expect it to cost around Rs. 75-80 lakhs (ex-showroom).
