Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet C 300

Mercedes-Benz has been on aggressive when it comes to new product launches for the Indian market. Staying true on 12 new cars in 2016 in India, the German auto giant has introduced two new cars- C300 Cabriolet and S500 Cabriolet. After making international debut in Geneva Motor show 2016 and Indian auto expo, both the cars have been launched in the country. Till now, Mercedes has already sold 9924 units in India and with these two cars and upcoming 12th launch the carmaker is hoping to close 2016 on a high.

Price:

C300, the drop top version will be offered as a CBU (completely built unit) at a sticker price of Rs. 60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Engine Details:

Under the hood of C300 cabriolet is the same 2.0l Turbo petrol motor of GLC300 SUV that develops 245bhp power@5500rpm and 370Nm of torque@1300-1400rpm. The engine sends power to rear wheels via a 9-speed 9G tronic automatic gearbox. The two door version can do 0-100km/hr sprint in 6.4 seconds with a top speed of 250km/hr. The car is bundled with a dynamic select which allows driver to select from five transmission modes- Eco, comfort, sport, sport plus and individual.

Space and Dimensions:

Unlike standard version, C300 rear isn’t roomy thought front seats are generous on space. At tape, it measures 4686mm in length, 1810mm in width, 1409mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2840mm and offers 130mm of ground clearance.

Exterior and Interior:

The C300 takes design inspiration from brand’s flagship model- S-class. The sporty two door cabriolet further impresses you with its familiar and head turner design. At front it gets conventional radiator front grille flanked by tri-star logo, dynamic LED headlamps with intelligent light system and LED DRLs. It also sports five spoke Himalaya grey 17 inch alloy wheels, fully automatic wash proof soft roof top while rear is adorned with LED tail lamps.

The carmaker hasn’t brimmed on features as it gets ambient lighting with 3 color options, auto positing seatbelts, 13 speaker burmester sound system, special door sills, AIRCAP, dual zone THERMATIC automatic climate control, Garmin navigation system, 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with bluetooth streaming, MB apps, USB ports and bluetooth streaming. Other noteworthy features include Brown Open Pore Ash Wood Trim with analogue clock, Brown Open Pore Ash Wood Trim with analogue clock, ventilated glove department, velour floor mats and much more. It also comes with 13 different upholstery options.

Colors:

The C300 Cabriolet is available in four exterior paint options- Polar White, brilliant blue, Obsidian black and Designo hyacinth red metallic. The soft top can be tucked away in 20 seconds at a speed up to 50km/hr. Also, the Aircap system helps in reducing the draft while the cabriolet is being driven without roof top. The Soft roof top is available in four colors-Dark brown, dark blue, dark red and black.

Safety:

As expected, the C300 is loaded with both active and passive safety features like collision prevention assist plus, Distonic plus with steering assist, collision prevention assist, parking assist, dual-stage, driver and front passenger, front side bags, window bags, pelvis bag, knee bag and Pre-safe system. Other noteworthy features like lane assist, Intelligent Drive Concept with Attention Assist, Reversing camera, cruise control with speed limiter, attention assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS, brake assist, neck pro head restraints, adaptive brake with hold function makes C300 one of the safest cars.
