Almost every model in automobile industry has to face tough time sooner or later in the form of criticism on the grounds of glimpse, mechanical powers, features, price range etc. It happens especially when any new and comparatively better model hits the car market. Same happens with the luxury car maker’s C-Class model which has received so much of applaud by its customers including a large no. of sales figures but later a li’l criticism too coz of its not-so updated glimpse.
By keeping in mind the same, company brought its new facelift model namely Grand Edition C after renovating and modifying the all-famous C-Class luxury car. Though, it is also being said by the company that this new model is being launched as a celebration model of C-Class coz of its successful manufacturing of 50,000 units and to being the first luxury carmaker to touch this figure. Well, both the reasons seem justified for us somehow.
We took our hand on German car maker’s this Grand Edition C. It is just the copy of predecessor C-Class but with extra modified look and some more luxuriant features. Let’s go deep.
Price:
C-Class is said to be one of the most affordable saloons by this German luxury car maker. Though, company has hiked its cost a li’l by this updation and now C-Class’s this Grand Edition comes with a price tag of 36.81 lakhs for petrol variant while 39.61 lakhs for the diesel-one which doesn’t look okay coz no major changes have been done in this Grand Edition C.
Engine & Performance:
This Grand Edition C is designed with both petrol as well as diesel fuels. The equipped engines in this car are 2143cc, C220 CDi 4 in-line diesel churning out the max power n peak torque of 170bhp & 400Nm respectively and another engine is 1796cc, C200 CGi 4-inline petrol unit tends to develop 186bhp & 285Nm of max power and torque respectively. These powerful engines are mated to a 7G-TRONIC Mercedes-Benz-framed automated transmission to provide a balance riding on road.
As there are no changes in its under hood, the performance doesn’t differ from its predecessor too. It provides a comfortable and premium riding on road with fixed suspension system and braking system as well. Though, diesel fuel makes a li’l noise at the time of engine starting but slowly becomes normal as the engine warms up. Its light and smooth steering wheel assists this luxury sedan to go flawless not only on highways but even in city roads as well.
As per its fuel efficiency is concerned, it offered the same mileage figures as the C-Class which are 10.96 km/l in petrol trim while 14.83 km/l in diesel.

Space & Dimension:
Alike every other sedans, this one is too a five seater which carries the length of 4596mm, width of 1770mm and height of 1447mm. Its wheelbase length is 2960mm and boot space is of 475 liters. This long length with long wheelbase gives it a fine look and makes this model a royal-one. It’s a spacious sedan which has wonderful capacity of luggage storage and enough leg room as well as headroom. It gives people a luxury feel to its customers after sitting in it.
Interior & Exterior:
At outside glimpse, this new Grand Edition C has been modified a bit by getting an all-new ‘Grand Edition’ badge which differs it from the regular C-Class. Company has tried to make it sportier than before and design a 17-inch 5-twin-spoke light alloy wheels in this new kinda-facelift edition. The whole body of this car gets an AMG body styling along with black AMG hubcaps which are just complimenting its sporty nature. Apart from the entire features of C-Class, it also gets panoramic glass sunroof and finned radiator with integrated Mercedes-Benz Star etc.
Contrary, at inside cabin, the upholstery of Grand Edition C is trimmed in ARTICO man-made leather and the high-quality interior is trimmed in the selected color. It offers premium quality as well as luxury materials, for which this German luxury carmaker is known for. The interior mirror auto dimming, sun visors with illuminated mirrors, door sill panels at front & rear etc are the newly designed features of this facelift luxury sedan which has been added to give its interior a different and sporty look than before.

Cons: – Not so much different than the regular C-Class
– Still, price has been hiked which seems unreasonable
