The Indian arm of Maruti Suzuki has officially launched Vxi+ variant of its tall boy hatchback Wagon R in India. The new iteration is available in manual as well as AGS grades. Wagon R has been consistent in the top five best-selling cars since its launch. For 2016-17 (till Dec 16), Maruti has sold 1, 31,756 units of Wagon R in the country.
The new Vxi+ variant adds four variants to the lineup which includes- VXI+, VXI+ (O), VXI+ AGS and VXI+ AGS (O). The new range is available in the price range of Rs. 4.69 lakh and Rs. 5.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Wagon R is available in new Midnight blue colour which takes a total to seven colour options.
Besides, new Wagon R Vxi+ is available with a range of new features including the stylish front grille, projector headlamps, side skirts and new alloy wheels. Even on the inside, it gets new dual colour tone treatment with piano black finish. For Safety, Vxi+ trim gets dual front airbags with anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) as optional.
Mechanically it remains unchanged; it is powered by a 1.0l K-series petrol engine that churns out 67bhp power and 90Nm of torque, linked to either AMT or a 5-speed manual gearbox.
