Mahindra XUV500 Sportz limited edition launched in India at Rs 16.5 lakh

It seems Mahindra is feeling the heat from Tata Hexa as the SUV giant has released XUV500 Sportz edition in the country. Based on top spec W10 trim, it is available with manual as well automatic transmission and priced at Rs. 16.53 lakh and Rs. 17.56 lakh respectively (ex-showroom Mumbai). The limited Sportz edition is available with a 2.2l mHawk diesel engine hence it will not be available in the Delhi NCR region.

So, what’s different in the special limited edition? The Sportz edition gets sporty decals on the bonnet, red inserts on outer rear view mirrors and fog lamps. Also included is the Sportz sticker on sides, special badging on the pillars, red roof rails and door handles. The special edition comes with darkened alloy wheels with red brake calipers. The dashboard and key also comes with Sportz badging.

Powering the limited edition is a 2.2l four cylinder mhawk diesel engine delivering 140bhp of max output@3750rpm along with a peak torque of 330Nm between 1600-2800rpm. The Sportz edition is available with six speed manual and six speed automatic gearboxes.

Based on range topping W10 variant, it gets touchscreen infotainment with navigation and voice recognition, climate control, electric adjustment driver’s seat, stability programme (only for AT), leather seats, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, electric sunroof with anti-pinch, passive keyless entry, smart sensing rain wipers, projector headlamps with light guides, auto headlamps with cornering lights and much more.
