Mahindra will be launching the Quanto facelift with a new name ‘NuvoSport’ in India on April 4, 2016. Just a few days before its official launch, the details of sub 4m SUV have been leaked online. The official website of the SUV is already live display few images and there is also a contest going on called ‘bucket list’ wherein one have to answer few simple questions and winner gets adventure sport vacation.
The NuvoSport will be launched in six variants– N4, N4+, N6, N6 +, N8 and N8+, the N6+ and N8+ will be equipped with an AMT gearbox. In terms of pricing, it is expected to start at Rs. 7.29 lakh for the base variant and it will be positioned above TUV300.
In the powertrain segment, the NuvoSport will get a 1.5 litre 3-cylinder mHawk diesel engine comes with two driving modes-one is ‘power’ in which the engine delivers 100bhp of power@3750rpm and 240Nm torque between 1600-2800rpm. Another is economy mode which is reduces to power and torque output to 72bhp and 180Nm in order to up the fuel efficiency. There could also be a 1.2l mFalcon petrol engine while transmission duties are taken care by 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox.
The Mahindra has given it new design as it sports a complete new front fascia with Scorpio inspired grille flanked by headlamps, separate LED DRLs, revised front bumper with faux skid plates and round fog lamps. Side gets black cladding, new alloy wheels while rear sports clear lens tail lamps and new wheel cover.
The interiors are moreover same as Quanto albeit few changes such as AVN touchscreen infotainment system, steering adjustability function with new controls, new upholstery etc. On the safety front, the SUV is expected to get ABS as standard across the range while the dual front airbags would be optional for the base and standard from N4 variant
