Lamborghini’s newest weapon Huracán in its sports car arsenal is believed to have at least five variants. This was said by Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Lamborghini. The four variants of the car are already on road and Lamborghini is working on a lighter and faster variant. As of now, Huracán comes as LP620-2 Super Trofeo race car, LP610-4 coupé, LP610-4 Spyder and the latest, LP580-2 rear wheel drive version which was launched in India on November 20, 2015 for INR 2.99 Crores. It is assumed that the new additions could be in the form of LP580-2 Spyder, Superveloce or Superleggera. It should be noted that Huracán is one of the lithest products of Lamborghini and it has been created keeping the idea of multiple variants in mind. The next variant is most probably cover lifestyle, performance, fun to drive and race. The CEO confirmed that they have lot of ideas but more ideas are continuously coming on way and the final product shall be magical.
As this entry-level car has seen huge success since its inception, there could be more than five derivatives over the life cycle of Huracan. This family may grow bigger than the Gallardo’s lineup. Investment, complexity and production capacity are the key considerations for Lamborghini.
Besides, according to grapevine, Stephan Winkelmann will soon be replaced as the CEO of Automobili Lamborghini by preceding Ferrari Formula One chief Stefano Domenicali who became an associate of the Audi family previous year.
