When it comes to astonish pedestrians, Lamborghinis probably tops the chart but the jaw dropping price makes it a rare sight on Indian roads. However, the Italian Supercar maker Lamborghini has announced the launch of its new model Huracan Spyder on May 5th, 2016 along with the inauguration if a new Showroom in Mumbai. The model made its debut at the last year Frankfurt motor show and it is expected to cost around Rs. 3.75 crores (ex-showroom).
The new model is identical to the Huracan except for the soft roof top which can be lowered down or raised in just 17 seconds and it can be operated when car in movement at speeds up to 50 km/hr. The Huracan Spyder sports two fins located behind the seats which not only look uber cool but also let air flow to rear mounted V10 screamer.
The roof top version is backed by a 5.2 litre V10 engine that churns out a massive output of 602bhp@8250rpm and 560Nm of torque paired to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission sending power to all four wheels. The Supercar can attain 0-100 km sprint in just 3.4 seconds before achieving the top speed of 324km/hr.
Like Huracan, the Spyder also comes with Cylinder on demand feature with combination with a start/stop button and cylinder deactivation technology.
Lamborghini has been doing well in India and had a dream run with record sales in 2015. Currently, the carmaker is treating Indian buyers with Aventador LP 700-4, Huracan LP 610-4, Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster and Huracan LP 580-2 and after the launch of Huracan Spyder will take Indian market equivalent to international ones in terms of models.
